Outlook Community was developed in 2006 alongside Camre Cymru / Outlook Expeditions & Outlook Scotland specifically to focus on community development.
Based on the proven results of the expedition and personal development programme models established by its parent company, Outlook Community launched The Mantais Project in January 2007.
The Mantais Project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, and part financed by the European Union Structural Funds. It aims to engage young people living in areas of North Wales which have been identified by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Communities First programme as being disadvantaged.
The project will offer 16 to 24 year olds the chance to take part in environmental, personal development, community and activity programmes which will improve their access to education and employment.
It will also offer outdoor qualification training to volunteer youth workers to ensure sustainable development opportunities are established within the communities.
